US Senate Confirms Justice Adrienne Nelson to the Oregon U.S. District Court!
Judge Nelson is the first Black woman jurist in Oregon to become a U.S. District Court

Steffan Alexander was appointed to the bench in 2019. Before his appointment, Judge Alexander was a shareholder at Markowitz Herbold PC in which he represented individuals and companies in a wide variety of complex civil litigation disputes. Before joining Markowitz Herbold, he was in-house litigation counsel for Infinite Energy, Inc., a multi-state energy company, and handled its corporate civil litigation matters. Judge Alexander started his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney. As a prosecutor, he was the lead trial lawyer in dozens of jury trials and handled thousands of varied felony and misdemeanor cases. Judge Alexander earned both his law degree and undergraduate degree from the University of Florida. Judge Alexander serves on the board of directors for the Classroom Law Project, and he also volunteers as a mock trial coach for Jefferson High School.
The OC-NBA presented Judge Alexander with a gavel at its Ebony and Ivory Dinner Dance. Judge Alexander’s investiture was on January 10, 2020. Click here to see photos of the special event.
